07 Nov Outdoor entertaining
This month I would like to make a few suggestions on the best way to create an outdoor entertaining area.
One suggestion I would like to make is that joining your indoor entertaining areas with your outdoor areas is very popular at the moment. By using bi-fold doors or large glass panes between your indoor and outdoor areas, you are able to expand your living space and create flow between the two spaces. This is ideal for the warmer months, which are approaching fast. If you are wishing to create flow between your entertaining areas, a good way to do this is by matching the colour schemes and designs of your indoor living spaces with your outdoor entertaining area. Do this is by using the same coloured paint, lighting and same flooring, such as tiles or timber between the two areas.
Using similar furniture combinations and cushions between your indoor and outdoor areas will increase the sense flow and create the illusion of more space.
Another point I would like to make is the use of ceiling fans in you outdoor areas are a good way to create a cool breeze in the warmer months and circulate heat in the cooler months. Ceiling fans will also help you to link you indoor and outdoor areas together.
Outdoor kitchens and fireplaces are also another popular outdoor feature at the moment. Outdoor fireplaces are ideal for the colder months and will enhance the flow between the indoor and outdoor living areas. Outdoor kitchens are great for the summer months when cooking by the pool is a nice way to end the day. Fireplaces and kitchens are designed for both small and big areas.
Outdoor living areas also compliment homes with pools and spas. A good way to do this is by applying clear glass fencing around them.
Lastly, I would like to inform those who are considering creating an outdoor entertainment area to their homes that now is the time to start planning in order to be ready for spring and Christmas entertaining.
