What was once a simple barn is now a calm, refined home office, brought to life with a focus on thoughtful details and natural flow.

From the outset, the goal was to make the most of the compact footprint without compromising on feel or function. Parquetry flooring adds warmth underfoot, while slimline shaker joinery and VJ panelling introduce texture and a sense of rhythm throughout the space. Black oak upper cabinetry and engineered stone benchtops bring in contrast and a modern edge, grounded by soft, tonal finishes.

A stepped splashback and open timber shelf give the kitchen depth and character, while the fireplace finished in Dulux Cement Paint adds a subtle, tactile backdrop. Even the bathroom carries the same level of detail, featuring repurposed herringbone tiles from the main house to tie everything together.

This project is proof that when the details are right, even the smallest spaces can feel generous, balanced and beautifully resolved.
